When we first met Rita and Justin, we knew we had met kindred spirits.
As a married photography team, Jean-Paul and I instantly connected with this couple, who wanted a smaller celebration with their nearest and dearest, with a mix of their different cultures and traditions, in a venue that was as eclectic and unique as them.
We started the morning at the family homes of the bride and groom, capturing intimate moments with their families while the excited jitters grew.
Then, we were off to St Hurmizd Assyrian Church in western Sydney. The bride arrived at the church during a sun shower, an absolute sign of good luck on such a joyous day. After a beautiful church ceremony, we departed for bridal portraits at Observatory Hill, before heading to their venue at The Grounds of Alexandria to celebrate with their guests.
The night ended with a rowdy dancefloor, as the traditional Assyrian folk songs transitioned into old school English hits that had everyone partying all night long.
Getting to both witness and capture Rita and Justin's love story was a great joy, a joy that beams through the timeless images of their day.
